Creating a fund

Five decisions, in the order the screen asks for them.

  • A name and a symbol for the fund's shares. Up to 64 bytes each.
  • The kind: Fixed, Rule or Flex. See Three kinds. Frozen once the fund exists.
  • The coins and the mix they open with. A Fixed fund takes 2 to 10. A fund whose manager can trade takes one fewer at the top, 9, and a Rule fund needs at least 3 of them, because no coin in one may be over 40% at launch.
  • The rent: 0.5% a month, 0.65% a month, 0.8% a month or 1% a month, on what the fund holds. See The rent. Frozen forever, so pick it as if it were printed on the fund. What the fund charges to join and to leave is not one of the five: it is 1% on every fund and nobody picks it.
  • The seed: what you put in to open it. There is no minimum and zero is a legal answer, but a fund is not open to anyone until you have made that first deposit, and it has to include every coin you picked.

One button creates the fund and seeds it.
